Dr. Sumaiya Nausheen Ahmed, MD is Assistant Professor and Head of Department of Psychiatry at Universal Medical College, Mohakhali, Dhaka. She has been practicing and researching within the field for over 8 years. Dr. Sumaiya graduated from Mymensingh Medical College and Hospital in 2011. Subsequently she did her postgraduate studies (MD) in Psychiatry from Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU). She qualified as a Psychiatrist in 2021. Her key area of focus is psychotherapy/counselling for patients with mental health problems such as depression, anxiety, OCD, stress coping difficulty, marital dysharmony, anger issues, addiction, sexual dysfunction, etc. Besides adult psychiatry, she has a special interest in child and adolescent psychiatry with focus on Autism, ADHD, childhood behaviourioral problems, etc.
